American soul singer Carlton J Smith will be performing in Seminyak on April 3rd.


SEMINYAK, INDONESIA, March 17, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Music fans using hotels in Seminyak next month may like to enjoy a performance from US soul and R&B act Carlton J Smith.

Nicknamed the Soul Brother Number New, Smith is a popular fixture on the live music scene in Shanghai, where he regularly performs with his four-piece band.

The artist has now confirmed his first two appearances in Bali, with a show due to take place in Seminyak on Saturday April 3rd.

According to the Bali Discovery website, Smith will be performing classic tracks by the likes of Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye and James Brown, as well as some of his own compositions.

The New York native also lists Al Green, Bobby Womack, Sam Cooke and The Temptations among his influences, so fans of classic soul music should find plenty to enjoy in his repertoire.

Smith has been winning fans around the world in recent years and his visit to Bali is expected to gain him even more new admirers.

Tickets for the show are priced at 325,000 rupiahs (GBP23) and part of the proceeds will be donated to the Rotary Club of Seminyak for community service projects.

Located just north of Kuta on the west coast of Bali, Seminyak is one of the island's most sophisticated beach areas and contains many lively restaurants and bars.
